The topic of discussion on my radio this morning is whether or not you are offended by Barack Obama calling a reporter "Sweetie," and then later calling the reporter and apologizing.
I'm so not kidding.
We watched Sweeney Todd the other day, and I have to say that is the most messed up movie/musical I've ever seen. Especially when you consider how boring the first half of it was. We were sitting there muttering to each other, "okay, he better hurry up and start killing people, or we're going to watch something else," because absolutely nothing of any interest whatsoever was happening. I hate to say I didn't care for the music, either. Oh well. The payoff was worth it, I think. Though that opinion might make me a really terrible person.
Is there anyone in the Preakness who could beat Big Brown? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the weakest field I've ever seen. There's almost no way he can come out of this race a true winner, because if he loses people will call him a pansy, and if he wins people will shrug and say "What? He beat a bunch of pansies." I want him to win the Triple Crown as much as anyone, but I also don't want it to be a walkover. Triple Crown winners have to earn it; that's why there's only 11. Dutrow's claim that he hopes no one with any talent shows up in Baltimore pissed me off. Currently, Hey Byrn could bring some value to an exacta. No one else in that field really seems worth mentioning. At least the Belmont field looks like it'll pack a little more punch.
SUPERNATURAL'S FINALE IS TONIGHT. On one hand, that's very sad. Who wants the season to end? On the other hand? I CAN'T WAIT. OMG. (I can be five if I want to. It's the WINCHESTERS.)
