Close enough
My mom just got her bachelors degree - at age fifty -please-don't-do-the-math, and in less than half the time the courses are slated for because she works in social work and the teachers lat her test out (when your first assignment is a fictional grant application and you decide to send it in anyway and it's approved, you get an A+). So my aunt and uncle gave her a sweet laptop for her graduation - after going off over her not going for the ceremony.
So i sort of have internet, when I'm in a coffee shop with wi-fi anyhow.
I hope to be back here a lot more now, since I no longer have to put up with the library collection of social rejects who can't use a mouse without ramming my elbow.
In other news, Steak and Shake is driving my nuts in the immediate sense. New district manager decided, less than three weeks after a carjacking in an adjoining parking lot, that the only smoking area for employees in inside the dumpster walls. Keep in mind that in the last year there has been a gun-point mugging directly across the street, and a knife attack in the same adjoining parking lot, and you might see how I, a non-smoker, feels like beating said district manager over the head with a blunt object. Worst part being that he is a smoker and has visited us since then, and where did he smoke? In the front parking lot, where the servers with aprons full of money can't!
One server tried to get a photo, but you can't make out the cig in his hand, so it just looks like a weird gesture...
Well, I have a lot of internet to catch up on, and I expect to be back within the week.
