Writer's Block: Food Loves and Hates

Jul 15, 2008 00:42

Yeah, I haven't been here for a few days. It's called my internet was cut off briefly, but everything is straightened out now.

Well, I am normal enough to say I can't live without chocolate, but I don't know if that counts. I'd say strawberries, lasagna, and the gyros from the restaurant here in Louisville called Sharom's.

I'm lactose intolerant, so I literally can't stomach large amounts of dairy, but I hate raspberries, think blueberries taste like perfume smells (and being asthmatic, I hate perfume), and (while I'm not fond of steaks) think anything that spills blood when you stick a fork in it is not yet cooked.

I'd talk about how work went jsut now, but I can't go into details, or I'll end up yelling at the screen. I know I work food service and have to do side-work before I can leave, but being told to jut finish sweeping then you can leave but can you take this one last drive thru order at 9:30 and then finally leaving at 11:16  is not right! Especially when tonight was my first night on the window alone!
I got in there at 5, and got not one break, not even a five minute break! Of course smokers get to leave at least once an hour...

Stupid manager can't understand how drive-thru works, not only wouldn't take the headset when my relief didn't show, but she kept taking off with my tickets! I had to tell her, my shift manager, that the order disappears from the computer the second I cash the order out, the grill and prep stations have their own tickets, and I can't check the orders for accuracy without THAT TICKET which is ALWAYS over the window, yes, I'M SURE!
How she made it to manager...
Gotta go finish eating my DINNER.
