On seasons and weather and harvest, but nothing too deep

The one reason I'm glad to work in the sports department of the local newspaper is that following the cycle of sports through the year, even moreso than gardening, keeps me aware of the seasons changing. I'm glad you agree with me on it being suddenly autumn; it feels like that to me, and I'm surprised that it's so early. But it definitely feels that way here, heat or no.

Does it? That surprises me. It usually turns autumn up here earlier than in your area, though not usually *quite* so early. Interesting!

I do too! My absolute favorite season is autumn, but I really could have used a little more summer this year.

I thought it might have something to do with working in frigid air conditioning for a good part of my waking hours. *shudders* *and shivers* But you're feeling it too, so it must be a regional thing.

At least summer was *warm* this year, unlike last.

yaa, no a/c for me, so its just the way it is.

it was warm, but here at least the little to no humidity made it really nice.

Autumn is coming far too early here as well - an unseasonable chill in the air - all summer long felt far too hot and sticky without air conditioning, and so the break is nice but it seems to foretell a long, cold winter.
