GOTH STUFF - Update on last year's bashing
The links here lead to distressing stuff, as a warning. gwyd posted this, reminding me of the event. A court is now hearing the case of those five teenagers who bashed a goth to death last year in the UK, and nearly slaughtered her boyfriend as well. Sophie Lancaster managed to prevent her partner from being killed, only to be murdered herself given that she refused to abandon him when he was beaten into a coma.
What is this 'were dressed as goths'? In the photo of Sophie, she has facial piercings, looks like a normal goth to me. Is this some half-arsed way of emphasizing their innocence, because they're not really goths?
Fuck, I am tired. And I hope the passing-by girl (a teen herself) who called the police got congratulated, because from the transcript, it sounds like she and two of her male friends both managed to keep the fuckers off them and call the police while in danger themselves. Not that it helped Sophie, who's gender was impossible to determine by facial features by the time the paramedics arrived due to the severity of her injuries, but they saved Robert Maltby's life.

I'm off to go get my hair dyed blue at Madame Gothic Glamour and be glad that for the moment I live somewhere I can do this AND go to work AND enjoy my life without this sort of senseless violence being likely to happen.
