My orginal Subject Line was titled "Friends, and something else. I don't remember. I will when I get to it." Which is why the first paragraph seems odd. Read, on, fellow readers, read on. ...... Well? What are you waiting for? Go! Ignore this! ... Go! ... Now you're just doing this to bug me... Gr, to you I say. Gr! *twitch* XDD (Blame the caffeine. I'm sorry. *bows* Gomen nasai.)
I was dead serious when I logged in tonight. I was going to rant about a friend of mine making an ass of themself, but decided against it, because there's always the off chance that they could end up reading it. And we all know that I don't like confrontation... *sigh* Whatever, I could kick their ass if I had to though. If it came to that.
I do remember what I was talking about in my Subject line, though.
Fan fiction. And writing.
I just want to know what they're teaching in schools since I graduated. It seems that the Language Arts teachers have been slacking off a bit. I swear to you guys, I hardly ever log into FanFiction.Net anymore because the fandoms I'm into have little... I don't want to say babies writing, but that's what it looks like. It's sad, really. They just type stuff out and post it without even checking their grammar.
What ever happened to spell checking and proper punctuation?! That's what I want to know!
Okay, Inuyasha fan fiction I can understand. Little teenyboppers think they're hot shit when they get a story posted. Hell, I still get a little geeked up when I get that email saying I posted a new chapter. (Yes, I have myself on Author Alert, but that's only so I can see what my stuff looks like and I'm anal about making sure everything on it is right.) But they still need to get a Beta reader or have their mommies proofread it for them. Something... Anything.
But I get geeked up because when I click on the link that goes to my story, I know it looks professional. I have proper punctuation and spelling (unless I missed a word or two...) I'm probably even going to spell check this before I post it because I don't want to look illiterate.
It's just irritating. With all the technology and stuff, there's no reason writing shouldn't be proper. There's no good reason why words shouldn't be spelled correctly. It's just plain lazy, if you ask me. (I know, no one asked, but I blog for a reason.) If you're going to write, do it right!
I have an idea. Anyone who's interested, contact me. I bet if we got enough people involved, we could do something to stop bad grammar on sites like FF.N. Maybe put an age limit on accounts...? We could turn them into something good again! Together... WE COULD RULE THE WORLD!!!!
I swear, I am okay. *twitch*
Another thing I want to know is this: (For I just logged into FF.N because someone sent me a very nice review I wanted to reply to). When the hell did Harry Potter's world and Inuyasha's world collide? Did I lose consciousness and a sick, twisted version of our universe open up and swallow everything that makes sense while I was out??
Jesus Criminy... I need to get out of here and smoke before my head explodes...
Until next time, fellow freaks and morons, Sayonara!

P.S. Let me know if you're interested in forming a group or something against the slaughter of words and punctuation due to... LAZINESS!!!
spelling,
punctuation,
fan fiction
