“Careful, baby.  If you keep looking up like that, you’re going to hurt your neck.”

“But Sterling,” Viola replied, her eyes still turned upward towards the sky, “I’ve never seen a building so tall before.  The ones in Portsimouth are half the size.”

“It is pretty impressive,” he had to admit, as he too looked up the more than fifty floors of the Simworth Building.  “Can you imagine the view from up top?  You can probably see all the way to Massimchusetts on a clear day.”

“It’s a marvelous time we’re living in,” Viola said as she tore her gaze away from the skyline.  “Automobiles and trains to take us anywhere we want to go, buildings reaching towards the clouds.  What will they think of next?”

“Travel by airplane.  That fellow Simburgh’s solo flight across the Simlantic opened the door for that.”

“Flying,” she said, making a face and looping her arms through her husband’s, “is not something I’m interested in.”

“Not even if it made it possible for you to get to SimEurope to see all that artwork in person that you’re always studying in you books?”

“Well…”

“That’s what I thought,” he laughed as they started to walk uptown.  “The world’s getting smaller, Vi.  And there’s nothing you can do about it.”

“I wouldn’t want to.  Now, you promised me a trip to the Museum of Art so I could see what their collections look like.”

“That I did.  And to the museum we shall go.”
