Prompt: Rosalie aghast at "children now a days" (katee412)

Summary: Rosalie’s musings on a cold winter’s day.
Notes: Canon.  Well into the future, and is a little spoilery.
Word Count: 150

She just didn’t understand it.  Not at all.

Children were so different from when she was young.  When she’d been a teenager, she’d been respectful to her elders.  Nowadays, they talked back or worse, did what they’d explicitly been told not to.  When she’d been in college, she listened to her parents, since they were the ones paying for her education.  Nowadays, young adults did what they wanted and ignored the fact that they were wasting their lives on futile paths.  When she was a young woman, she’d remembered to call and visit her parents.  Nowadays, her children had scattered themselves across the country, and not one of them bothered to call or visit with any regularity, not even for the holidays.

“Really, I don’t know what the world is coming to,” Rosalie sighed, as she stared out the window of her house onto the freshly fallen snow.  “Children nowadays.”
