It's nearly midnight over here and I really do need to sleep, but first I have to stop watching the Winter Soldier trailer.
- STEVE AND NATASHA! SNARK AND SASS! I cannot get enough of these two, I really can't.
- SAM. FALCON IN FLIGHT. I am SO glad to see him! He is already amazing.
- AHAHAHAHAHA ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON FURY OOPS OKAY THIS CAN'T POSSIBLY END WELL FOR REASONS
- "This isn't freedom. This is fear." -- I have to say that I let out a shriek when I heard this, which was mildly awkward considering my first watch was on my phone behind my closed office door. But seriously, SERIOUSLY, the fact that Cap is challenging the extremely shady actions of SHIELD makes me SO HAPPY.
It also makes me think even more that we may be headed for a MCU remix of Civil War in Phase 3. I think the end of IM3 sets up for it on Tony Stark's side, and it looks very much like we may be getting Steve's perspective here in a way that would lead down that path. But that's for later theorizing.
- Speaking of theorizing, I cannot stop yelping when I see Redford's character (Alexander Pierce). I tend to side with
musesfool here: Pierce is very likely going to turn out to be one Alexander Lukin, and I am LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. The scene with him standing in front of that reflective glass window, one hand on it? I have SEEN that EXACT POSITION before, drawn in the pages of the comic, and it's stretching credulity for it to be coincidence. Isn't it?
- Speaking of the comic canon source, IT TURNS OUT THAT BRUBAKER LIKES BOTH THE TRAILER AND THE SCRIPT. I am SO HOPEFUL, Y'ALL.
- And finally -- OMG KNIFE FIGHT. SHIELD THROW. THE LOOK ON BOTH THEIR FACES. ("Who the hell is Bucky Barnes?") STEVE! BUCKYYYYYYYYYY! I CANNOT EVEN WITH THIS MOVIE IT IS GOING TO SMASH ME FLAT UNDER ALL THE FEELINGS EVER I SWEAR IT IS.
- Which leads me to ask, yet again: is it April 2014 yet?
Is it?
