stretching my wings

Apr 13, 2011 22:22

Tonight's run was only two miles instead of three, but seeing as my entire body yelled at me for overdoing last time, I'll take it, especially since it was still a run and not an amble. Or a shamble, for that matter.

It's been an odd week, in which I am simultaneously getting a lot of things done and constantly falling behind. Oh well, it'll balance out eventually. I did have a good birthday on Monday, though, which was nice! Thanks to all for the well-wishes - they really brightened my day.

As is my usual habit around my birthday, I planned a few things that I'd like to make happen -- one within a week, one within a month, one within a year, and one within a decade. Whether or not they come to pass, I do like thinking about things like that. Sometimes it leads to real adventure -- for example, on my 30th birthday, I went skydiving. This year I didn't quite do anything that exciting, but who knows what next year will bring? 2011 has been predicted to be the year of change for me, after all.

And actually, in the spirit of Doing Something New -- you all may have heard that there's a contest going on in which the winner will end up recording a part in the anniversary-release audiobook for Neil Gaiman's American Gods.

My entry is here.
