1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?
This answer evolves over time. He'd kill the things they hunt to protect innocents, especially the things that can't be stopped any other way-- but he drew the line at killing humans.

From the end of S2/start of S3 onward, that line gets more and more blurry; from killing Jake to allowing people to die to being more and more willing to accept collateral damage... and most if not all of it focuses on saving Dean. Dean is the center of so many things for Sam.

Sam would willingly die for something that he believed was worth it. (E.g. saving Dean, or killing Lilith after Dean was, er, gone.) Otherwise, he'd die doing the job; I don't think of him as exactly suicidal, but I think Sam doesn't expect to make old bones as a hunter.

And I think there's a large part of him that doesn't want to.

(... oh man. We need to talk, because I just realized something S5 related on this score. Ahahaha.)

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
Uh. *eyes canon very warily* Good question.

I think Sam-- and I am going to fudge the "circumstances" question here by saying when acting as himself and not puppeted by a supernatural creature-- would not be able to kill Dean, if and when it ever came down to it. He might win a fight between them, but I don't think he could strike that final blow.

3. What do they dream about?
Oh come on, canon answered this one for me! *laughing*

Um okay. His psychic dreams all relate to the YED somehow. Being a healthy guy in his 20s, Sam occasionally has other dreams starring pretty girls (hi Bela).

I think Sam also dreams of vengeance. More than he'd like to.

... and occasionally he dreams of frogs. Watching him and croaking. Frogs are creepy.

4. What’s their biggest fear?
Again, this shifts over time.

At present, his biggest fear is not being able to save people-- especially because it's linked to his fear that he won't be able to save himself from becoming a monster.

In S3, it's not being able to save Dean from hell.

As of S5, I think Sam's greatest fear is that he will not be strong enough to say no.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?
Object? Um.

John's journal, unless it was to give it to Dean. Because it tells the story of so much of their lives, and is his only/last connection to their dad.

6. What is their fondest memory?
When his team won the division championship soccer game, trophy and all... and Dean and Dad were both there to see it happen.

7. What is their worst memory?
Right now, it's Jess's death.

That's gonna change.

8. What or who was were their most significant influence? Expound.
Dean. No question about it. Dean taught him and protected him and took care of him and loved him and was always there, one way or another. Sam looked up to his older brother, and still does.

(The worst thing about Stanford for Sam is that he was estranged from Dean. Hands down.)

John. Their relationship has defined Sam in ways he's still finding out.

And finally -- and possibly overall, in a way -- Azazel. The YED is the architect of so many things in Sam's life, from the time he was 6 months old. And yet... however those events may have shaped what Sam has become, they don't make him who he is.

(And on that slim thread I hang all my hope.)

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?
Saving people.

10. What makes them laugh?
Ridiculous things. Startled disbelief.

11. What are their religious views?
Sam believes in God and His angels. I think he's nominally Christian, more because of social context than out of having explored other belief systems as something to himself follow -- but he believes, truly and deeply, and holds to that by acts of prayer and faith.

12. What is their greatest strength?
His love for his brother.

13. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?
See number 12.

Also, pride.

14. Who is the most important person in their life?
Dean.

15. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?
Dean.

Sam would die doing the job. One way or another.
