Today's subject line is a quote from St. David (c. 590, or thereabouts), and translates as "Do the little things in life." It's a phrase I ran across in a newsletter from the Welsh society out here, and as a snippet of wisdom and a piece of advice both, I'm fond of it.
Perhaps especially right now.
Even though this week bids fair to be filled with a lot of confrontations and challenges as it attempts to stomp all over me while wearing the metaphorical equivalent of tractor boots, I'm determined to come out on top. I have a cup of tea, a list of things that I've already done and can do, and a bright red beaded shirt just to add a splash of color to the day.
And, thanks to St. David, I also have a reminder to be mindful of life's little day-to-day experiences and joys while I'm busy moving through it toward the distant goal.
Sometimes it's the little things that really count.
