Yes, much like the rest of the world. Mathematics is a singular noun which is plural in form, and should keep the trailing -s when abbreviated.

I understand the grammer. I just wanted to know if people actually used the abrev. form with the trailing s, it's not done here in the states.

In fact, it seems that "maths" is a colloquialism particular to the British.
