So I'm at this place called Lakeside Lab right now, taking an archaeology course. It's basically like an unsupervised summer camp for college students where you can pretty much do anything you want except swim in the lake. I'm only here for a week, but most of the rest of the people are here for a month. I'm really sad that I can't get crazy drunk with them at least once before I leave-class every weekday at 8 in the morning kinda prevents that. There are only about twelve other students here which makes it really easy to talk to people and hang out. I'm really disapointed that I can't be here for the full four weeks because the course, after the first few days, is almost entirely hands-on. There's an Oneota site from about 1700 some 25 miles away from here. This means that by the end of the week I'll be out actually digging stuff up like arrowheads, pot shards, glass beads, and pipe pieces and recording them. If I were to stay for the full four weeks, I would be qualified to archaeologize as a paying job. How sweet would that be? The answer is pretty sweet. But then, I am a nerd.
