Decision time for Vamp
As you all know (or I think you do), I’m up here in Jacksonville attending UNF (University of North Florida). I am taking five classes as of now. Wow, I’m really considering that decision was a mistake, but overall I’m doing ok. I’m spending most of my weekends back home rather than at school. How messed up is that. My whole reason for coming up here was to get away from everything and see if I could make it completely on my own. Well I think I have accomplished that to a certain degree.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my future lately. I know I read somewhere that what you major in while in college is not what you necessarily will do in life. What I want to do in life (costume designer) I’m not sure if I can get into that line of work without majoring in it. My first original thought was that I would try to get into the industry through the back door. By working my ass off on reading plays, learning how to sew (alter, create, or size) costumes, and talking to anyone and everyone I can. Now I think that might not be enough . . . sigh.
So I have been considering after two years here I would transfer out. One of my considerations is UCF. I mean come on they have a huge theater department. I know I have a whole year to figure out what I want to do, but I think I will drive myself crazy first.
