Music, Letters, Dragon Ball Z, Exercise, and Art

I got the CD from Alex today! It was quite exciting. New music is always interesting, and I didn't have a lot of things on the CD (some were in foreign languages!). But, I'll need to get the list of names and artists of it sometime soon. I hate having things like "Track 19" by "Unknown" on my iTunes list.

Yesterday I shipped my mom's picture for Mother's Day. I didn't take a picture with my proper camera, so you'll just have to take my word for it on here. It was an okay picture. Flowers and a person. Hopefully it'll go over well. It only cost me $3 in the end (envelope plus shipping plus a card). Go me.

Also, I got back my letter from Staci today. =( I wrote "92617" as the zip code, for some unfathomable reason (that's the zip code for Irvine). I'm wondering if I should just write a new letter and send it off to Kansas...the old one isn't as relevant anymore...I'll see how I feel about it tomorrow.

I've been getting fatter lately. So, to counteract this I've got to start exercising again. Today I managed for 40 minutes. I just did things like practicing punching, kicking, elbowing, upper-cuts...etc. Then moved my legs around in patterns. Stretched in between bouts. Sit-ups, push-ups...until I got too tired to do more, knowing that I'd have to still do other things in the day.

I made Brian's bento for tomorrow. It includes stuff like miso-filled rice balls, and bacon wrapped asparagus, curry bok choy with tomatoes, and assorted fruit. I'll also make a sandwich to fill up some more space, and maybe another quesodilla.

We got the first DVD of Season 1 of DBZ. Brian's never seen it really in order, or from the beginning. I forgot how slow it starts off...I mean, I knew, and I remembered, but I forgot how it feels to watch it. *yawn* Even though I'm enjoying it, especially for the exposure to the Male Japanese (so many of the characters talk REALLY rough...Goku almost notoriously so), I want it to be the action already! But, no...first we have to set things up, and battle Raditz (a character I've always felt more should have been done with...so he's evil! Piccolo was evil! Vegeta was evil! We like evil guys joining us!!). Ah well. Next up from Netflix is My Neighbor Totoro! Then DBZ, S1, disc 2! =D Alternating it like that should make it less like a really slow DBZ marathon, and more just like waiting for the "next episode" to come out.

I'm really hoping for better TV this week. I need to watch Legend of the Seeker in my queue on Hulu, and now Castle as well...tomorrow will be V, and then on Friday it'll be another episode of Bones. And I swear to god...if the Bones' season finale isn't excellent...I might not tune in for next season until I hear something like, "BOOTH IS DEAD OMG!!!" or "BOOTH AND BRENNAN HAVE A KID!!! ZOMG!!" because, honestly, I'm just getting so fed up with this show, again. This season had a few good episodes...and the rest are just utter crap. These last few are great showcases of that. They have two episodes left, and this week has one on the Gravedigger. I have no high expectations about it.

On another note, Sara's birthday is in a few days. I really wish that Brian had gotten this job sooner, or that I was working as well. I'd hoped to get down to Nor Cal for her birthday this year. But, it's just not possible at this point. Brian's too early in the job to ask for any sort of vacation days. And even then, we still need the money from each day. And I'm just starting volunteer work this week. I need to break into it. So, no fun for us yet. But, that doesn't rule out the summer, or the fall. Hell, even if it's just next winter, seeing each other once a year is STILL a step up! And now, after those horrific days of driving across country...a 6-hour drive sounds practically relaxing...

I'm going to try and get some more things done tonight, and then get to bed. I've been tired all day (even before working out). I need to train myself better than this. *sigh*
