so life's been going good. school ended quite well. had probably too much fun at the cinco de mayo party, but hey, what can ya do. the SAI retreat was completely fun and amazing, and it made me realize how happy i am to be in that organization. then i settled back in franklin for good. almost. still havent unpacked yet. i have stuff all over my room... and it's starting to get on my nerves. as well as my parents. but i just cant seem to get motivated to start putting it all away. i've had all week basically. because mommy is working now and rj is still in school, i've been on my own all day until 3ish at the earliest. i'm pretty sure the only few productive things i've done this week have been finishing re-reading angels and demons, starting stephen king's the stand, got a drug test and safe driver thing for my new job at the golf course... and yeah... that's about it. matt has found some excuse to come see me twice this week. he endured the majority of the little mermaid on tuesday night because i was watching it when he rang my doorbell. such a sweet guy. and he only made fun of me a little bit when i got all teary-eyed at the end.
today i actually did something though. i started at chili's again. all in all... it was quite a good first day back. started out by getting a raise. keith (one of my managers) was having to reenter all my data into the computers b/c i'd gotten deleted out of the system. he asked me what they used to pay me... i told him $7, then he put in $8, and told me it was our little secret. so yay for that. i like money. then basically everybody told me multiple times how happy they were to have me back. because apparently, they've had a bad host staff since january. which i really dont understand how someone can be that terrible at hosting. it really isnt rocket science. but whatev. (yes christine... i just typed whatev...) it's still nice to be missed. and of course, my evening was made when arden, emma, and steeni came to eat and visit me. made me quite happy to see them. they also informed me that the movie we were gonna see was now gonna be at thoroughbread instead of opry mills... meaning i would more than likely be off of work early enough to make it. which i was... barely. i missed the previews. and maybe the first 5 minutes. but hey... it was still fun.
we went and saw the poseidon adventure. it was quite entertaining. maybe not the best movie ever made... and while it wasnt really titanic 2... (SPOILER WARNING... DO NOT READ) the ship does sink. but it was fun to watch and we were all really stressed out by the end of it. shouting at the screen and everything. so it was fun. and it was nice to see them again.
so i'm starting this thing this summer, where i'm gonna try to buy a new cd every week. and i mean the actual cd, not something off of iTunes. not sure how well this is gonna mesh with my whole, saving all my money thing. but i figure a 10-15 dollar splurge once a week cant hurt me too much. anyways... this week's purchase was "Bring it all home" by Little Big Town. i could never get that "boondocks" song out of my head whenever i heard it on the radio... because it's just a great song. and i'm really enjoying the rest of the cd. they're a quality band. which i like.
i've got a list going of which cd's i want to buy. but i'm quite open to suggestions because currently, my list wont last til maybe mid-june. so if you know of a really great cd that should definitely be part of my collection, let me know.
and now my nyquil is starting to kick in... so i'm over and out.
