Good weekend... just too short, as usual.

Went to a party at Monica's last night. Didn't get home 'til almost 2, so I was slightly dead this morning, although I recovered nicely. She had a DJ and the music was fantastically loud, so I'm still somewhat deaf and my ears are kind of ringing.

Went to the Halos game today since Dad got last-minute tickets on Friday. (Can't pass up those awesome seats, man. I'll go by myself if I have to.) I didn't have to, though...
Maffew (who I think I can probably count on to be my standing Angels date so long as schedules allow) and Mike used the extra two tickets, so we had fun despite losing. Again. We had a pretty good run going there for awhile, winning 5 straight series... until this weekend, anyway. We were swept by Seattle at home for the second time this season. WTF... Seattle? I swear, this is just not our year. And I am NOT a fan of Jeff Weaver. And why are you going to leave a guy in for 110 pitches, when only about 8 of them were any good? I am also slightly annoyed by the fact that the Kingfish seems to play in every game except those for which I am present. It's his last season... cut me a break here!

I remembered the sunscreen this time, though, which means I am not a crispy critter. Although had I spent a little more time in the sun, I'm pretty sure I would've burnt again. As it is my arms are slightly pink, so I don't think my SPF-Gajillion would've held up much longer. ("It puts the lotion on its skin..." Although that's still not as funny as "It puts the lotion in the basket"... Matt, I laughed so hard when Christina posted that picture on your Myspace! *g*)

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow... waaaaayyyyyyyy too much shit to do, not enough time to do it in. I only have a 3-day week, which for me is a double-edged sword (much like 3-day weekends).

Oh!
Kat! I forgot to tell you! I'm gonna be in your neck of the woods next weekend... You remember my cousin Mel, right? Her mom (my dad's sister) and brother flew out from Indiana to stay with her for a few weeks, and my parents and I are going up to visit with all of them. We're flying into Oakland on Friday morning, and we'll be in SF at least one day (I'm guessing Saturday) before flying back home on Sunday. I will try to do at least one crazy and/or stupid thing (preferably Chris-related ;P) on that day in honor of your birthday! *g* (Oh, and you've GOT to see the bracelet my parents got me... I'll take a picture and post it! It's a hoot!)

So yeah, I've got Thursday and Friday off, plus next Monday. A little mini-vacation. This is the first time I've ever actually used vacation time that I've accrued, at any of the jobs I've ever had. And damn it, I think I've earned it. And it's a good thing that it worked out that I'm taking it now, before the full brunt of everything falls solely on me.

Oh yeah, my high school graduation was ten years ago today. Man... ten years. And it really kinda sucks that after all that time, this is where I'm at. Which is to say, not really anywhere at all. I don't know if there's gonna be a reunion, but if there is I highly doubt I'd go. The person I'd most want to see can't be there, anyway. That's one of my favorite memories of that day... it's still hard to believe he's gone.

Ten years... damn, I feel old.
