Another ending
Early this morning, my last rat Johnny died. Last night when I took him out of his cage to clean it, I found he was extremely lethargic, breathing heavily, and his back feet were grossly swollen. All signs pointed to heart failure. I took him right into the emergency vet, where they confirmed my diagnosis. He was given a shot of a diuretic to relieve the swelling, and some take home meds that I never got to give him. I chose not to euthanize him, as he still seemed alert, and not in too much discomfort. We snuggled together and watched a movie until 3 am, and I finally slept. I woke up at 6:30, and knew it was the end. He passed on not soon after. What a tough little dude, he hung on for quite awhile.
I'm just shocked at how quickly this came on, he must have had a heart attack on Wed. or Thursday. I took him out of the cage on Thursday night to show Andy, and he seemed ok...just a little sleepy, which isn't uncommon for him. My sweet little guy, I will miss you lots.

My harddrive crashed again for the 3rd time, so it must be some kind of motherboard problem...I have to get a new puter...I can't believe how quickly the bills are racking up this month!! :( *sigh* Thanks Ross for letting me use your laptop.
