Whoo, last week was SO MUCH FUN! I traveled SO many places, it was great. Here's a brief synopsis.
Sunday:
Just chillin.
Monday/Tuesday: BORING work at Animart, took an extra 2 hours after my shift was over to move cats/dogs up for adoption.
Wednesday:
Worked @ Animart until 2, then went to visit my grandma who was over @ the 'rents house. After that, I went home and got ready for the evening, Molly and I were going to go to Chicago to see Zack Hexum play! We got a late start (as usual) and made it down there by around 9:00, at which time the show hadn't started yet. It was awesome, I still can't believe how amazing of a singer/guitarist/saxophonist he is. We got to schmooze with him a bit too, got lots of hugs and pictures.
Molly and Laura sammitch! Dammit, he is such a hottie. His whole crew is so sweet. He's travelling the country right now in a minivan with 4 other guys and all their gear. It's a good thing they get along so well! I'd met him and his manager before, so it was nice to catch up with things since last November. His manager is so nice, he gave me his # to call him before the show on the 14th so I can get put on "the list" so I don't have to pay to get in. Whee! Hopefully I can score a copy of the video he took during the concert too...That would be so incredible. I did some profiteering while I was down there too, I handed out a couple Profits demos, as well as gave Zack a full length copy of their CD. I'll e-mail him in the next couple of days to see how he liked it. So, did you know that in Chicago, they aren't called speed bumps, but rather:
(Also known as quickies?) So Molly and I had to spend the rest of the evening imitating speed humps. We are perverts! The trip back was fine, took about 2.5 hours both ways, and we listened to all 3 Profits live shows that I had. Great fun. I guess I'm not afraid of driving in Chicago after all!
Thursday:
TOTALLY tired and eyesore from driving yesterday, I slept almost all afternoon. I got my butt out of bed by around 3, and got some chores done. I took my guinea pig Napoleon and cage to Animart to adopt him out to a new home...I was so sad to see him go, but when you're tight for cash...*sigh.* Got some supplies for my parents' cat, delivered them, and went to the bank. Got home, cleaned up, and went to the Sports Pub to meet up with the 3 other ladies so we could carpool to work in the dells area. We had to work in Baraboo first, at a bar called Zach's. We thought it was going to suck, but it ended up being awesome. There were some guys there celebrating a buddies' 21st, so we hung out with them the whole time. One of the younger guys was Besides playing mind games with a drunk old dude it was pretty uneventful. One of the younger dudes was from LaCrosse, so I invited him to come hang @ Popcorn tomorrow night to see the Profits. THEN...We moved on to bigger fish...AKA Marley's in the dells!
We had a blast there. The manager put us at a table on the dance floor, it was crowded (people kept bumping into me!), dark, and extremely loud. But fun. I had as much of a conversation as I could with a guy named James who works @ ho chunk casino, and he gave me some tips for the tables, which I don't remember, haha. I also met a HOT HOT HOT guy there, named Matt, he's one of the bartenders. Unfortunately, with that kind of hotness comes the player attitude, i'm sure. I got his #, and he invited me to go boating in the Dells...I called him once, but I think I forgot to leave my #, as he never called back...I'll try again once I find his #. I got about $15 in tips too, which rocked! (Considering I'm not supposed to take tips...) All in all, it was a GREAT time.
Friday:
Molly and I decided to take a road trip up to LaX to show our support for the Profits. Normally a 3 hour drive? HAHAHAHA not when i'm driving! It took us an hour and 45 min to get there. It was fun. We got lots of attention and hugs from the band, they weren't surprised to see us as Scott had called me to let me know the time of the show, and I told him i'd be there. It was a rockin' set too, it was our first real Profits show, as they played for over 2 hours. We got back home at around 3 am. It was a good night.
Saturday:
I took off work @ Animart to record a yellback for Sex at Six @ the Profits' studio (for their new CD), as well as working for Tattoo later in day. There were about 25-30 of us at the studio (which happens to be in their basement) and it was much fun. Molly came with me, and I brought the boys puppy chow, for which they were quite excited! As for Tattoo, we went out to a couple bars in Krogsville and Johnson Creek. Krogsville is a town I'd never heard of before. It seriously had about 100 people to the 'ville, I swear. It was fun though, we were the hottest things to hit there for awhile obviously, as everyone wanted their pictures taken with us. 2 smartasses were also taking pictures of us behind our backs--one guy was pretending to grab our asses while the other one took a pic. Real cool, haha. Johnson Creek SUCKED. It was boring, extremely loud, and the people were weird. I got a few tips though, can't complain. I tried to get Molly to come out with me after I got home, but to no avail. I went to sleep early.
Sunday:
Timmy and I decided to go to SEWER fest (South East Wisconsin Exotics & Reptiles fest) in Racine, south of Milwaukee. We got a late start, and ended up getting lost, as my directions from Google were CRAP. We eventually found it on our own though, but were a half hour late. Neither of us got anything, but it was sweet to see all the venomous snakes and lizards. It was a fun road trip.
And so that ended my week. I traveled all over the state, and I couldn't have been happier. My ass, however, is still quite sore from sitting so long. Oy. I can only hope my life keeps up this excitement!
