They laughed. They laughed because I lost my magic.

...Harry, you should hex them all into guineapigs. Muggle ones. In laboratories.

they wouldn't let him in with me, and when they got the door closed between us they just laughed and laughed and said that the mark on my arm was why it happened and I deserved it.

I hate them.

You'll turn them into muggle guineapigs and feed them to muggle ethiopians?

They'll wish they were guinea pigs.

And get myself tossed in the ministry's holding cells? I'd rather not. I've managed to keep my nose clean this long.

Mr. Malfoy?
All right?
I don't know what to make of that, honestly. It's ludicrous. Adults aren't meant to behave that way. I didn't quite understand what you meant before, about how people were still...well, now I do.
Ah. I don't know what to say. That's bloody well awful.

not all right, but... getting used to this. Which is not right in the very least.

No, you're right, Adults aren't meant to behave like that - but when an adult remembers a war like the one we had, and it's fairly recent in their memories (I'm not sure if I went to the St. Mungo's in my time or Harry's) - they're going to take every little joy at 'enemy schadenfreude' they can. Unfair, certainly, but unfortunately the way the world works.

The war is over, though. There's no reason for people to act like a bunch of schwanzlutschers when someone comes to them for help, as they're meant to be the ones who do the helping.
I suppose you know that anyhow, only I'm just thinking outloud. It's very frustrating not being able to do much to help someone out, do you know?
If you like I can fly around the building singing annoying songs for a while to bovver them all?

A war being over is never as simple for those who lived in it, as it is for those who read about it in text books. To be honest, if I'd been them, and an ex-death-eater came to me for help, I'd probably laugh in their face too.

:) That made me smile, the image of that. YOu don't have to do anything, Hugo - but I do appreciate the sentiment.
