Wicca. This is a powerful branch of magic little known, but to Muggleborn lesbians, most prominantly of a Jewish nature. I suspect it has broken off from the Kabbalistic branch of mysticism, as that is practised mostly by males of the same society.
It is best identified by the ritual of flaying the skin off a living male human, most likely a muggle, and then capturing the soul as it flees by use of an esoteric necromancy, making the now inhuman creature live skinless, a testament to how Dark the magic they access can be. This is an initiation ceremony, which proves the height of a Wiccan's power. Once succeeded, one 'gets better' by returning to the lesser of the dark magics, unless the call for the greater is at hand. This is called the Rite of OD. I suspect then the witch feels some remorse, though how much depends on the power. The more felt, the more powerful, for one is capable of greater things with greater feeling.
They group their societies in something called 'Covens'. These are named so, in honour of those in the past whom had been thrown into fires for their evil ways. In this way they keep the memory of what can happen alive, and keep themselves ever ready should the Dark Times come again. This particular branch are not very adept at flame-freezing charms, and thus were the few unable to escape the Muggles of that era. They have named the act of burning a witch 'lobotomise' - referring to the way a Muggle would often lob off their bottom halves, seeing them as breeders of wickedness.
The prime purpose of a Wiccan is to train Slayers. They see this as a great good, but then all see what they choose to do AS a sort of good, whether or not the world as a whole deems it so. Slayers are activated by ritual magic in order to fight a First Evil. This is what they term the mythical Original Sin.
The first of their newest order were a pair of women Slayers named Buffy and Faith - due to the fact that they buffered their magic with a faith so strong, it could not be held by only two. Thus they shared it among the Coven's Slayers, whom have now been amassed in a sort of army. These Slayers are women of enormous power. This order of Wiccans are a cut above the rest, considered 'super powered'. They slay vampires, whether or not they are of good breeding, as well as demons - likely raised for sport and training.
The Wiccans use these Slayer Armies to dispose of anything they deem Evil - so it is best not to get on the wrong side. My suggestion is to befriend what of these rare breed you become acquainted to, and be careful not to raise their ire, or you also may become an initiation rite.
