Fast Food Nation, also ewwwww
I've been making an effort to pick up movies I haven't seen at the library, and picked up Fast Food Nation this week.
Ugggggh. It was like reading The Jungle all over again, only visual. It'll definitely put you off beef for a few days...it would me if I didn't already not eat it. We're pretty unaware of how food, or at least meat, gets from nature to our plate-- it's not pretty. The subplot of the marketing exec selling out to support his family was sad, but the subplot of the the immigrants who work at these plants is heart-breaking.
