Okay, srsly? There should be an internet-wide rule of respect when it comes to popular books, their dates of release, and spoilers. In this instance, ladies and gentlemen, I speak of the last installment of the Twilight Series, Breaking Dawn, by Stephanie Meyer. I love reading Twilight fan fiction, but there are people who write it who are already writing in spoilers! I can't go to popular Twilight fanpages for the same damn reason! The book came out YESTERDAY, people - and I bought mine through Amazon, so it will be here tomorrow, hopefully (which is what you get for setting a release date on a frickin' SATURDAY.)
But do not get me wrong - this isn't the only book this has happened for, or will again, I'm sure. I couldn't even log on to the damn internet the week before Book 7 of Harry Potter came out, because spoilers were singing already. I'm sure that when Brisingr by Chris Paolini hits the shelves, it'll be the same way. Teh suck.
So, if you hear my plea, spread it. Wait a week, for god's sake, so people have a chance to read the book - in innocence, from scratch, without disappointment already in their hearts.
Also, this goes for AUTHORS TOO. SM announced two days before BD was released that B/E get married. Team Jacob was in alt, I'm sure.
UGH.
Going to work now.
