But I have to keep my chin up.
My mom bought a brand new car yesterday. A new 2009 Hyundai Sonata. When I got home, I took it for a drive, I was just going around the block. Wasn't gonna be for more than 4 miles or so.
As I'm driving it, everything is going fine. Then as I turn onto Smith, I feel a small shutter or wobble. I don't think anything of it really until a bit more down the road and I feel the car leap, as if the tire blew, and the car swerves into a car parked on the side of the road.
My mom's new car is undrivable. The transmission froze up and the front passenger side crumpled (as it should). Thankfully no airbags were deployed. I'm a little shaken by the whole thing, but mostly I can't help but feel bad for my mom.
I remember when I had my 240SX stolen before I had even made a payment on it and how much that pissed me off and made me sad. This has to feel so much much worse...
I'm gonna deal with insurance companies and the like. Because it was the tire, we've contacted the dealer and are going to work with them as well. The tires were covered by a warranty with Michelin. Hopefully they'll pay up.
