Ubuntu Experience: Once Again, with the Freezing...

Well, the freezing issue has come back today.

I was using Firefox to browse for some info related to gedit (default text editor) and possibly installing AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) on my system. Everything was working fine for a while. Suddenly, I go back to the Google search page, and everything freezes up again. This time, I was using my full-size keyboard and usb mouse; neither was responding to anything. I had to do a hard reset just like last time.

I'm pretty sure this had nothing to do with overheating, since I was working at my desk this time. There's plenty of ventilation, no soft things to clog any of the vents. At this point, I really don't know what the problem is. I've seen things online about Firefox having stability issues in Linux/Ubuntu, but I'm not sure if that's what's causing this, or if it's something else. I'm not too worried, because I don't recall the freezing happening during any other activity (unless I just blocked it out of my memory out of frustration). I know it would probably be even more annoying if it happened while typing a paper or something, and I had to do a hard reset and lost all my info. Overall, I must say that Lucid Lynx is cooperating relatively well with me, despite these quirks it seems to have.
