Music please

Does anyone have any recommendations of music for a Burlesque party? I want to put together a compilation album for the hostess of tomorrow's party*. She has, apparently, installed a stripper pole in the living room. There will be DJ's and decks and stuff for the proper music: this will just be stuff to play around to ( Read more... )

I didn't make it to the party in the end! silver_notebook July 16 2006, 20:51:29 UTC
You are indeed correct. I imagine you already have it amongst your almost 20,000 tracks, but if not, I'll happily repost it. The other track was 'England 2, Columbia 0', from the same album, which is a fab album. Once I've got broadband (free talk-talk comes my way in August) I'll probably dump a little more music out there and be more open to taking requests, but with an embarrassingly tiny CD collection, I can't imagine I have much you don't already own.

I think I only have about one hundred! silver_notebook July 16 2006, 22:21:11 UTC
you just have a finer restraint policy about what you actually pick up in the first place

Partly that; but also lots of spare money for music has never coincided with times when buying lots of music was either apt or easy. Also, I have an unease in most music shops. They're either too big to choose from, or so small that it's noticed that I'm 'browsing' more than buying, and I feel self-conscious. And how do you 'browse' music? The covers give a few clues, or remind you of things you once wanted but never got; but you're reliant on those 'listening post' things for anything else.

I'll upload KM for you shortly.

I sort of think that over the next few years there will be increasing ability for everyone to share everything digitally, and I'll lick up the record collections of some of my friends whose taste I have faith in: though when I'd listen to it all, that's another matter.
