[There's a moment where things are silent except for the singing hum of a Vibrava's wings; half of his team's visible - Bahamut hovering behind flickering in and out of view, Karma in his arms - looking like a halfway respectable fish instead of the saddest zombie-fish ever, while Iago the Arbok has his head resting on Kuja's shoulder like an ( Read more... )

Zidane is-

[Cecil can't even finish his sentence before he drops the Pokégear. Only his shoes can be seen, now.]

...Thank you for telling us.

.... I'm sorry. [Of course Zidane had earned friends here - and there were people that knew him from the 'Cycle'...it was Zidane.]

It was the least I could do. [There may not be many people he was attached to enough to care about, but Zidane wouldn't have wanted the people he knew left in the dark.]

[After a minute, a hand finally comes down to pick up the Gear. The image shakes slightly.]

Still, there are those who cannot... I'll keep an eye out. Should I find any of his Pokémon, you'll be the first to know.

[Somehow, he's actually almost surprised there aren't more people responding.]

...Thank you. It is much appreciated.

[By the time Cecil's face is shown again, he's managed a shaky smile.]

Hopefully neither of us will have to search very long. They tend to find friends of their old trainers quickly.

[Kuja nods.] Ritz is keeping an eye out as well; Azalea's a small town, so unless they'd wandered into the woods, there's not a lot of ground to cover here - and I can't see that they'd have reason to roam there.

[Of course, it has already been a few days with no sign of them...]

They might have decided to visit the Slowpoke Well, though I doubt it. It's not particularly interesting, even at the best of times.

[And losing your trainer is far from the best.]

We'll have to keep an eye out there as well - it's one of the cleanest places with water that's big enough for Andre, so we've been there fairly frequently.

[...Damnit, now he's worrying about the pokémon. Curse you, being more used to being attached to critters than people.] We're going to be here a few days more; hopefully even if they don't find their way to us, someone will find them.

...If it's familiar, they might be more likely to be found there, yes. They could find it comforting.

You could try posting a list of their species near the Pokémon Center. This way, even trainers who do not know him could recognize them easily.

[He nods; even if they're moving on, it might be useful - he almost wishes he were more prone to keeping photos, although if he can get paper and a pen, he can do just as well.]

I will - ...thank you.

You're welcome. I... hope you'll have luck with them.

[Because saying 'I hope he'll come back quickly' would be too optimistic.]
