Last night, yobanashi mistakenly introduced me to the 2009 taiga drama, Tenchijin.
I am fairly sure she regretted it but, guys, this drama is amazing.
If only for Mitsunari.
I am fairly certain I had a really undignified hysterical fit when I found out who the actor was. Oguri Shun of Hana Yori Dango fame, who also starred in Tokyo Dogs as the cool, straight-laced cop and Crows as the delinquent thug and jkakjjkwe.
At least he's beautiful. :'D
However, I am far more enamoured with the actor who plays Yukimura.
Did anyone else recognise him? Because that is Tezuka-buchou of second gen Tenimyu fame, Shirota Yuu.
I cried laughing, especially since he's not nearly as good looking when the camera pans out a bit and you see the creature living on his head masquerading as hair.
Maaan, every time I write reboot, I'm going to be imagining this as Yukito, sob;;
And then I spent the next two hours watching tenimyu videos on youtube.
Yudan sezu ni Ikou with like, the most adorable Momo ever and interim!Kaidou between giant scary first-gen Kairou and doujinshi Kaidou of the fourth cast! But, Shirota Yuu can sing ♥ Unlike incredible Stoneface!Tezuka on the first cast who looked so much like Tezuka but was hilariously off key. :'D
And here! A Shirota Yuu solo, singing Yume wo Tsunage which is A REALLY YUKIMURA SONG. CRYING LAUGHING.
BONUS. IN CASE YOU THOUGHT SHIROTA YUU HAD ANY DIGNITY AT ALL, HE WAS ALSO TUXEDO MASK IN THE SAILOR MOON MUSICALS.
And now, because Hyoutei will always be my favourite school since they reminded me of my ridiculous private school, a few other songs:
Koori no Emperor because Hyoutei are goddamn pimp.
Ore-sama no bigi ni Boogie Woogie because they also have no dignity.
And my favourite tenimyu song ever, Season which is entirely because Atobe gives his team a proud papa look and it is adorable.
