Welcome to voting for Round 02, Challenge 10! THIS IS THE FINAL CHALLENGE! WHOMEVER WINS THIS, WILL BE OUR LAST ICON MAKER STANDING!
Before you vote, please make sure you are familiar with all of our voting gidelines. Voting is pretty imporant to a LIMS competition and, besides, casting your opinion helps you in the long run. In addition to below, remember to keep all entries anon and don't ask anyone to vote for you inside or outside of the competition. This contest started organized, it'll end organized.
(Note: All entries have been loaded to my PhotoBucket account so that no one can view the source of each. Icons will be hosted until Round 02 is over and a final winner has been publically announced).
I realize that sometimes critiques turn ... mean in these contests. While I would like to believe that those with the more antiquated tastes in movies and actors are beyond such rudeness, sometimes it just needs to be said that it is unacceptable. This isn't "American Idol" where someone with a nifty British accent tells off the contestants, shattering their 'fragile dreams.' This is an icon contest on LiveJournal.
When voting, you WILL be asked to eliminate icons, however we will do this in a way that will not mentally BASH the contestants. You may vote for this contest without actually entering an icon, however if you break any of the voting rules your vote will not count nor will it be made public.
Keep It Technical.
We're voting for technical reasons. If blue isn't your favorite color, that isn't the correct reason to vote off an icon. We're looking for quality, style, crop, color usage, text, font and anything else that comes to mind when you look at the BUILD of an icon. Dont simply disregard something that doesn't "look like it was changed much." Try to look at it through the eyes of the icon maker, pointing out to yourself everything they did to the icon before the final "big picture."
DO NOT BE RUDE.
I can't say this enough. There's no reason to be rude. If you're having a bad day, come back and vote later. Voters must, at all times, be unbias and should look at the icons when in a calm and clear minded mood. There is no "professional voter screening" here ... we trust everyone with the ability to vote. Abuse it and you will be handled accordingly.
Negative AND positives.
You will be asked to vote off icons, but we aren't going to go with the usual "vote [here], comment why [here]". When you point out what's "wrong" with an icon (in your opinion!) you will also be asked to point out at least one thing that's right. No icons are without positive points.
These are opinions.
Try not to take this personally. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and while someone might not like your icons someone else somewhere else will. If you can't take creative critisism with a level head, or without being emotionally hurt, I respectfully recommend you don't take a turn in a LIMS contest.
