This weekend is going to be hell. I managed to get down to Northern Liberties by 1:30pm to interview 18-year old high school seniors about the upcoming primaries here in PA. I kind of wish that I was doing a written article instead of a photo presentation since I'm not sure how to photograph such things in a way that's interesting. The students who did talk to me were pretty nice and very well informed on issues that meant something to them. Then again, the high school does specialize in international affairs so the special curriculum really shows. The school is also a magnet school for students who are really motivated to learn, which also showed. All in all, it was a nice experience for me and I just wish some of the students who were interested in journalism and talked to me were 18, so I could interview and photograph them without legal problems.
As for the pictures I took, I'm not completely satisfied. I might go back to the school just to get some generic shots of students (with faces you can't see) just to establish the school a bit more.
Now I'm going to do some work for publishing to the web before bed. Tomorrow I head back down to Northern Liberties with group members to work on other aspects of our assignment package for MURL.
I'm also being nagged about chores and doing extra chores. It's frustrating because I'm a bit too busy to take on any extra duties. Why is it when someone else has to start with the chores it's suddenly a group effort involving the entire household, but when it's just me I'm often doing these chores alone? I'm also being nagged about school pictures, class rings and the like. Forget all of that, I'm just trying to make sure that I meet the academic requirements to actually graduate!
