Between the nightmare scenario with the car and feeling depressed about it, I almost forgot to mention that we had another foster child placed with us. Yes, that's right. I was informed that he would be coming a few days ago. He arrived yesterday evening and things have been okay. His name is Mark and he's 15 years old, he seems promising so far. The reason he was placed with us is because his previous foster family was moving out of town and he didn't want to leave the city. Otherwise he would have continued living with his previous family. His previous foster mother dropped him off and informed us that we'd have to work with him in terms of school, but otherwise he's a good kid who tries hard. He's also pretty quiet and doesn't mind helping out.
From what I've seen in the past 24 hours, he seems to be pretty okay. While cleaning up the spare room, he offered to sweep if I didn't feel like doing it. He also asks for things and his manners are pretty decent. He enjoys video games and likes animation (including anime), so at least we have some common interests. Maybe, just maybe this foster child will work out for us.
As for the car, I'm not really sure what I'll do with it. I guess I could have it looked over, but I don't really want to keep it anymore. The thought of it saddens and frustrates me, because I tried to work with it for the past two years. Despite my best efforts, everything seems to have ended in failure. I had planned to sell the car next year, so it breaking down on me hurts that much more.
And after watching hours upon hours of Invader Zim on DVD, everything now tastes like pig. =p
