SVU-Rescue

Ok, so the mroe recent seasons of SVU are not what anyone would call 'great' television, but this episode hit a new low. First of all they had three storylines, two of which they barely touched at the expense of the other. But then the stuff with Olivia and Calvin was terrible! I know that from the beginning SVU moved away from the L&O idea that it was all about the case and no information was given about the detectives, but this went way too far the other way!

From what we initially saw Calvin's life with Vivian wasn't absolutely terrible which makes it seem even more unrealistic that he would have adjusted so easily to plaing happy families with Olivia. Shouldn't he be resentful and moody? Not to mention he looks a little too old to be making things in art class for her. It's all too good, too fast :( At least Elliot can see that things aren't perfect.

Writing things like that on the face of someone who's passed out at a party? Makes me glad I don't do that sort of thing. The way the host was acting didn't really make it seem like she wanted this party-like it was a small thing that got crashed by a large group. And if she was responsible for bashing the girl's head it, I don't know what she 'discovered' her.

Warner's a doctor-shouldn't she have some idea of what the plue liquid was?

This lay list idea sounds familiar-I think they've used it in another episode not that long ago. I did like that the guys had such varying reactions to it. But seriously wouldn't you be kind of careful about who you sent something like that to so that it didn't end up everywhere?

Seriously how old are these people again? It seems like high school.

Really stupid of the paramedic. If you're going to rape patients, wouldn't you make sure you didn't rape the ones that were about to have rape kits done at the hospital. Especially if you were going to use defribrillator gel?

It was actually pretty good acting when you could tell that Tinta was lying and getting Mike to cover for him. Useful that FDNY was already investigating them pair and was willing to hand over all the info and didn't close ranks. Mike's reactions were pretty good, keeping on trying to find ways to get out of this mess

Well they were right. Didn't take much for Mike to turn of Tinta. Although you wonder what he got out of it, reduced plea for the robberies or something like that. Too cops lying in wait and a paramedic still managed to bet them :( Although he was pretty crazy the way he didn't even think twice about killing himself

If Olivia was 'deliberately' not handing Calvin's blood sample over why would she keep it at work where it could be found (also I think blood samples need to be kept cold)

Ok at first I thought that Elliot telling Olivia that they found Vivian's fingerprints at the crime scene was him trying to get her to freak out and tell him what she was thinking with Calvin. But then it was actually part of the storyline that we were supposed to be taking seriously??

Well at least Cragen is trying to do the right thing and take Olivia off the case. For all the good it does. And really he should know better-none of his detectives ever react well to be taken off cases-they usually just end up going behind his back.

The actress playing Vivian was pretty good int eh scene where Olivia discovered her-you could see how desparate she was. Although she seems to have gone down way too fast. The money situation is a bit weird-she would have inherited money from her mother, and had enough for long cab fares and drugs, but was living in an abandoned building

I can decide whether Elliot and Olivia want Vivian to go down for this, although Olivia obviously doesn't want Vivan around so she can keep Calvin. But either way risking the case by interviewing her??

Who the hell is Sarah and where did she come from??

All things considered, I expected Cragen's reaction to be a lot, lot bigger. A suspension for someone, most likely Olivia, at the very least.

I really didn't like the way they played the scene on the courthouse steps. The druggie biological mother and Olivia as the responsible, sensible woman, desparate to be a mother, trying to keep Calvin away from Vivian :(

Another weird twsit-Sarah's dead. And of course Burlock's cellmate happened to be hanging around at the time. But then the person who killed Sarah was related to Calvi and it keeps getting more insane!

Well at least we're being given a bit more information on where Sarah fits in but it still seems to be written in a way that assumes we know who she is

Cute scene at the end that you just knew was going to go badly. The child services officer seemed a bit harsh, very harsh actually about what he was doing. You think that he could have let Calvins ay goodbye or collect his stuff. I know Vivian initially trusted Olivia but if there were reasonable grandparents in the picture wouldn't it have made mroe sense to sent Calvin there.

At least Olivia had Elliot to comfort her, I don't think Calvin will really have anyone that he'll find comforting, even if they try :(
