When girls look at him, Neville feels twelve years old: in a way they’re scarier than Snape.
Susan’s cool grey gaze makes him want to look anywhere except her face. “Let me take a look at that cut, Neville. Carrow really went to town on you.”
Neville looks at the window, reflection pale in the glass. “It’ll be fine.” He smears blood on his cheek as he touches the newest wound.
“It might get infected.” She reaches out; Neville swats her hand away.
“Leave it.”
Susan shakes her head with a toss of her ponytail and leaves. “Silly, stubborn boy.”
