To spend her life with him, she'll have to face her greatest fear...
Erica Peck thought she'd never have to go into the water again. After all, there's plenty to do running her family's marina from shore without having to dive in herself. But then her unstable ex-fiance shows up with a gun and demands her help in finding a bag of rare jewels she accidentally tossed into the ocean.
Unable to find them, bleeding from a grazing gunshot wound and running out of oxygen fast, she has no choice but to give herself up to the mercy of the sea. Rescued from the water and the sharks by a gorgeous merman named Reel, Erica quickly finds herself falling head over fins in love with him. And when Reel risks his life to save hers, she discovers that she doesn't want to live without him, no matter the consequences. But can they ever find a way to be together when she still can't stand the water and he can't survive on land?
I am running out of books to read! All I have left on my shelf are romance novels that I got for free at RT (Romantic Times Book Lovers Convention) well I got more than romance books at RT but the lovely YAs have already been read.
I picked up In Over Her Head because of the setting and subject, I love the ocean and stories set around mermaids/men but of course don't call them that in this book everyone whether maid or man prefers to be called a Mer.
Its funny so far and not just because our male MC's name is Reel and his brother Rod and father Fisher (cracking up yet?) he also has a remora friend named Chum (how about now?). Erica who is terrified of the water is funny to read because she's somehow gotten herself into an unbelievable situation and she's having a little hard time coping -scoff- and Reel who's known of her longer than she's known him is all up for her staying under the sea with him but is having his own problem at the moment because saving her means he is under trial and might be sentenced to death.
I should be done by next week so perhaps a review will be posted then. I'm reading a little every night so it hasn't gripped me but I keep coming back for more.
