MM: Anime - Subbed or Dubbed?
Hey everyone I got something different for you for today but still relevant to today's usual postings.
When it comes to watching anime/Japanese Animation (to those of you who actually watch it) which do you prefer? A show that is dubbed in English or a show playing in its original language with English, Spanish or whatever subtitles?
In the past for me when I was a young little thing I wasn't fond of reading while I watched a show, you tend to miss things if you are a slow reader, which I was. So all my shows I preferred to be in English and I would wait for them to be released on TV as opposed to being like my friends who watched them online and were probably a good fifty episodes ahead of me watching shows that were subbed.
Now though I'm more open minded and a faster reader. I can watch subbed or dubbed and it all depends which set of voice actors suit the characters more for me. Like with Gundam Seed, I preferred to watch it in English. But with Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden watching them in English makes me cringe every time.
My little brother is fine either way, he takes a more go with the flow attitude when watching cartoons and doesn't seem to mine what language the show is in xD.
What about you though, what's your opinion on subbed vs. dubbed? I have a friend who doesn't understand the appeal of a subbed show - she doesn't want to read when watching a show - but there are plenty of people who can't stand a show dubbed in another language that's not the original or are you like my brother whose happy with whatever he gets?
