Back in the late 80s...when we wanted to listen to J-pop songs and news....the limited source were either we read those hong kong/ taiwan magazines for lastest news and patientely wait for the local record company to bring in those taiwanese or hongkong reproduce cassettes here for sale.
If we want to watch the artist on tv..we probably have to wait for the then SBC to run those Japanese music show which wa usually one hour a week.. on CH 8. Hardly can we get to watch the MTV or concers back thent.
So being a J-Pop fan back then, i would have to visit the music store regularly to buy those cassettes. it was not cheap.
Nowaday, we can search for these old songs through internet and probably you can get to watch them on youtube.
How timely for me..although it been like 20 years ago...some of those songs have faded in my memory.... but some..i have good memories of them. Here is one very popular song from 1987 by Takako Okumura. It is a classic song now and widely sang by various aritist as well as in schools.
