Had my interview yesterday at the Mt. Sinai Skills & Simulation Center. I won't delve into its function, because most of my readers will already be familiar with it. Overall, I think the interview went well. Drew, my interviewer, and I did in fact hit it off quite well, just as
cookie_b said we would. My one criticism is that he tended to talk quite a lot, and as a result I wasn't able to fully articulate some of the things I wanted to. Oh well, I'll handle that in the follow-up letter.
This was another interview of firsts, however. It was the first interview in which I:
-Was shown a bathroom as part of a facility tour
-Saw a penis, albeit one as part of a medical manikin
-Mentioned that I played D&D. Drew asked me to tell him a story about myself. I told him about a time when I worked at the Tri-C library and delivered a book from inter-libary loan to a student's house because she was handicapped and only came once a week, and lived near me. Then I told him how I knew Christa, which is, of course, because her husband and I played D&D together. Luckily, that worked out for the best. It turns out he's a Star Trek fan. I'm not a fan of the Next Gen and its spawns, but I was a fan of the original series. I found ST:TNG really boring, but I'm willing to give it another chance.
Overall, it seemed really positive. It seems like a really cool place to work, a place where I can grow, (instead of stagnating here), and a place where I can really live up to my potential.
I think my cubicle-mate is farting. It smells like burning Fritos.
