When washing goes south...

It is interesting to see just how often I actually go into the laundry in the evening, which is not often at all. I was cooking dinner when Munchkin needed to head to his room, he came screaming back up the hallway with an interesting sound of water, here is me wondering if I remembered to put the lid down on the washing machine and realising that it wouldn't be working if I had done that so figured the screaming was about something different. Boy was I wrong, I made it out of the kitchen and then looked down. For those of you who have been to my house know just how far it is from the lounge room to the laundry, so when I say that the flooding had reached the middle of the lounge room floor will understand just how much water was flooding out of the laundry. To get to the lounge room it had to flood 5 rooms, get past a seriously big beanbag, several smaller ones and one couch cushion not to mention the three drainage holes. I am never going to complain about cleaning the tile ever again. This of course happened about two hours ago, the rooms with carpet only got wet near the doorways and the rest was taken care of with the mop and me ditching over 20 liters out of the bucket. At least the tile is now dry, the fan is on in the worst affected room and I am completely out of towels, of course now that I really want to take a shower I am going to have to dry off using a hand towel... when I phoned my mother to get some more drying the carpet hints all she could do was howl with laughter... Ok I am going to sign out, time to get munchkin settled in my room as the worst affected room was of course his, have a shower and get the towels washed and hung out. Of course it just would happen to be raining right now....ARGH !!!!
