Movie rec - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, you will gasp, giggle and be completely hooked up into the story - or at least I was. The beginning was a little slow but it built up speed fast just like you old detective pulp fiction which is what this movie is based around. But unlike your standard pulp fiction detective novels there is a gay kiss and a nicely strong female supporting character. One of the lead characters is openly gay while there is suggestions of the other one as well (or that could be the slash girl in me) there is no apologies made in regards to the gay themes. Apart from that the story is interesting, the action is real or really funny or an interesting mix of both. The dialogue had enough snap and sarcasm was sharp enough to cut.
Don't let this movie slip through the cracks make the effort to go and see it, my prediction is that it will get one of the really short runs buried at odd hours. This is one movie that I will be seeing again and then getting it on DVD.
