There was a significant pause after the voice was done rattling through the short list; it then fell silent as the shadows grew longer, letting the moments tick by. It was only when it seemed to be finished that another line swept across the lighted sky, obliterating another dot, and another.
"That of users Raidou Kuzunoha, Zolf J. Kimbley. That of users Seed and Jowy Atreides. That of user Estraven. That of Prince Zuko, that of."
Hitting the fifth star, the machine fell quiet again.
It drew another line across the sky, slow, painfully slow, and it never quite reached the destination, inevitably reaching a standstill on the grid.
"... Thaaat," it declared.
The sun was almost dwindling on the horizon, and so it seemed almost as though lightning were flashing when the bright show over the square began to flicker, uSUC's voice no longer a voice at all; a strange, digital sound like staccato feedback echoed back and forth through the square, loud, almost deafening. Where uSUC was interacting, the screen displays were reduced to static.
Just like that, with the last inch of sunlight falling away on the horizon, the skies turned black, every Central screen died, and the city plummeted into darkness.
