Gale hadn't been aware of the small conversation he had engaged between the two men, eyes searching the crowd eagerly, in a desperate search for any signs of orange, the colour of his tribe.
It all seemed pretty useless though, because he was sure of one thing - It smelled like food. And if there was food, Heat would be there. And if Heat was there, screams would be certainly heard amongst the present, either from disgust or fear. And if that happened, he was sure he would be hearing either Argilla or Sera scold him and Cielo's silly laugher. The whole confusion wouldn't be hard to miss, and the group would have been easily spotted by the used, experient eye, without much difficulty, and he was sure that Serph would be standing there too, simply observing and blinking, much like he usually did.
An interesting leader, that.
He was awaken from his thoughts though - Sadly realising there was not a confusion in the place - by someone's voice. He turned, wondering what could possibly be happening just to end up with something being thrown right to the middle of his face, making him lose his balance slightly and have to move his leg back, to avoid what would have been a very embarassing fall.
He blinked as the coat fell from his face and into his now stretched arms.
Fabric.
Was it some sort of message?
He looked around again. Yes, everyone did seem to be dressed. Was that the problem then?
Hm.
Slowly, he moved his arms into the sleeves, the jacket fitting rather well. He crossed it on the front and looked at the man again, once grey but now green eyes narrowing slightly.
"I suppose... I should thank you, stranger."
Gale looked at his hands. He had no identifying ring.
Jowy couldn't help but roll his eyes at Seed's comment, waving a dismissive hand; of course, of course, fine, fine. The panel thing seemed to be the one creating these food offerings, though he had no idea how; perhaps it was also worth asking if clothes could be provided. Seed could always get a replacement coat, and Jowy... Jowy had been thinking that, if Seed was to be his general again, perhaps he was to be a king again. He wanted his Highland uniform.
(Granted, if he was honest with himself, he would probably get it, sit and stare at it and wind up not wearing it... but it would be good for the choice to be there, and a good opportunity to find out just what the panel-person-thing was capable of.)
He turned his attention to the man and approached him tentatively. Even dressed as he was now, Jowy's face was a touch pink. "Sir, you appear a little lost. Is there, perhaps, anything we can help you with?" He at least seemed quite soft-spoken, well-meaning, and much kinder looking than the ones from his ship. All good things.
One of which he could see, stalking the periphery. He made note of it, but deigned not to approach; he didn't look like he wanted to be disturbed.
"Oh! Do forgive me. My name is... King Jowy Atreides," the 'king' part being mostly for Seed's benefit. He bowed just a little. "This is General Seed. We're new here, ourselves."
Well, lost, was a very soft, yet kind, way to put it. To be fair, he had absolutely no idea where he was or what this place was.
But saying that could be very embarassing, couldn't it? Mainly for someone who always knew what he was saying, what to plan and what to do next. Calculations done to the last scratch, always right, always leading them to victory and now... Now he just had no idea. No idea at all.
"I... I do not comprehend." He started, his face blank.
Eyes searched the other man for signs of hostility, or a tribe, but neither he nor the one who had thrown the jacket at him seemed from his world. Both had weird hair colour, much like Sera's, and neither had identifying rings. Could they be from her world?
He looked up, questioning, finding a rather vast, blue sky.
Blue, not yellow. That really wasn't the Junkyard.
"I see." He answered, more to himself than to anyone else, looking down again to the man, he found, had his face slightly pink.
He blinked. It had been the first time he had seen such a thing. In the Junkyard, people had no feelings, no emotions. So they never cried or smiled. Or blushed, of course. It had been only recently that emotions had come to them, and more specifically, to Gale. He was still getting used to them and to know them, and that reaction sure had made him curious.
What feeling made your body react in such way?
He titled his head slightly, short green hair a mess, thanks to a previous encounter with a jacket.
"I'm Gale." He said, blinking.
King?... He had heard about that. Those ruins from the old world he had visited, Serph had told him it was an amusement park, but they talked about a Princess and two Princes in there. Gale knew, for what he had learned, Kings were related to those. Important people, he knew.
Leaders.
He respected that.
His eyes followed Jowy's words to find the General, observing his for a while before nodding. He supposed they were related in some way. Maybe like the leader to a tribe and his followers.
"What is this place?" He asked, turning his attention to the King again. "Do you know?"
What was this place? ... A heavy question, really. The little smile that had made it to Jowy's face rapidly faded away, and he looked out into a sea of bizarre, mismatched people and flying strings of confetti. He had been here almost a full day more than this man and he wasn't sure he comprehended, either.
"... This is Arc... Arcadia," he explained, doing his best to recall what the 'machine' had told him, annunciating the unfamiliar words. "And we're in the city called Central, and those... panels... are called uSUC. It's been my experience that we got here by being aboard silver ships," - which, he noted, had all vanished from the landing pads today - "because our worlds were destroyed. We were rescued and brought here."
And still, he didn't know why. It was a question that had been eating at him yesterday, and something that was beginning to gnaw at his mind again. Why him specifically, as well? Of all people, he and Seed, and why was the world destroyed? How?...
... He was doing it again. He shook his head, muttering. "It... it's a pleasure to meet you, Gale. I'm sorry. It's still a confusing time for me, too."
"I do not comprehend. It is illogical that any creature can hold the power to destroy so many worlds." And, also, "It is also illogical that said creature would leave the place the survivors are being taken to intact."
He titled his head, hair still a mess, remembering the boat the other was telling him about. He wasn't dreaming then.
Was this the place they would have to call a new home?
"Ah- It is a pleasure to meet you too, King Jowy." He said. As much of pleasure Gale could feel, since, well, he still didn't quite know that emotion yet. If it meant he was happy that someone was talking to him and explaining these things then yes, it was a really big pleasure. "I understand. Maybe we can get answers from the... uSUC."
Illogical, yes, but... Jowy frowned deeply, rubbed at a bare arm. "Well, I guess, but..." Honestly, in the midst of so many other thoughts, fears of what had happened to his friends and then the obvious delight of finding Seed, it hadn't even occurred to him to ask uSUC about this story. Nothing seemed to fit quite the way it should have, as Gale pointed out.
Gale. He spoke so oddly, and Jowy couldn't help but furrow his brow when he talked, trying to follow him. And his face, oddly devoid of emotion. He really was such a strange person...
Wait. What was he thinking, judging him so harshly? He seemed friendly enough! Perhaps he just wasn't a terribly expressive person.
"Shall we ask him? I'd like to get the answer to those questions, myself."
"I think we should. Following rules and orders wihout making questions is no longer part of who I am or how anyone should be." He answered and moved his index right finger to his nose, touching it like pushing invisible glasses back in place - A habit he seemed not to have lost after all, one he had never really thought about. It just came - Naturally.
He blinked. Jowy seemed to move his eyebrows a lot. Gale couldn't help but find that interesting, since the simple movement gave the other an expression - That was what they called it, wasn't it? - Which gave Gale an idea of what he could be thinking about.
"Am I bothering you?" He asked, face blank, recent green eyes observing all the aspects of the other's face, quickly, wondering.
