[Day 1, close to midnight] All that glitters...

Aug 01, 2007 23:20

Who: Rufus. Potentially the Turks? Completely open.
Where: Arcadia, Central City
What: Under the cover of night, the vanguard arrives.
Rating: To be advised! G for starters.
Warnings: Nup.

Note: This follows from this thread, where Jenova dispatches her sons down to the surface of Arcadia. Rufus goes first, under orders to spy on the Turks. A day later, he turns up seemingly randomly on the fringes of the city, and walking in. At the start of the log, he is walking towards Central square.

Anything that happens in the interrim can and will be back dated.

The planet... was unexpectedly chilly.

And unexpectedly deserted.

Hands stuck in his pockets, Rufus Shinra strolled slowly through the deathly silent streets of Arcadia. Neon light fell on his upturned face, cast the blood on his shirt and jacket as black instead of dried, rusty brown. His eyes reflected blue, the contact lenses that Mother had provided to hide her distinctive mark on him weighing heavy and unfamiliar.

It should have been raining, he reflected. He did not wish to be here, away from Mother's presence, along amongst enemies. But duty as duty called; it was a mission entrusted to him specifically, and his chance to prove himself worthy of her. Of her love.

A screen greeted him. He paused, as it questioned him, noting that he had no weapons, no belongings... nothing on him, really, but the clothes on his back. It gave him an orange. And streamers. What use did he have for streamers...

It asked for a name.

"Shinra," he replied, automatically. "...Shinra, Rufus."

The screen beeped excitedly at that, the simulated face breaking into a broad grin. "There have been people looking for you!" It chirped excitedly. "I will inform them immediately, forthwith! To facilitate their ability to find you, I recommend that you station yourself beside the fountain in the Central Square! They should be along shortly!"

The Turks. It had to be. Well, this would make his mission that much easier. Squaring his shoulders - the injured one throbbed a little when he moved it - he headed in the direction indicated. ...His one chance. He would not fail. He could not. Mother had no use for failures.

[OOC: All Turks will receive an update from uSUC that one Rufus Shinra has arrived on Arcadia and is at the fountain.]
