Who: Axel, Roxas, and Reno
Where: On the road the expedition took
What: Axel finally meets up with Roxas before Reno interrupts
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Cranky Axel, probably equally cranky Roxas, and a really pissed Reno since the Boss said he was to be at Place A, and he's not there.
Axel stared down at the scratched mark on the ground. It had to be Roxas. No one else would be out here just past the first light of dawn marking arrows. Despite having slept the night, he was dead tired. Due to not knowing where the Corridor would open, he'd been forced to keep going short distances. The one time he nearly had ended up in a tree when he'd overshot some. Either his powers were being less than reliable or something was wrong with this place. He couldn't call up any of his Assassins, and moving from one place to another shouldn't have left him this exhausted.
One way or another, he was reaching Roxas, damn it.
He'd started out in the very early hours to track the other Nobody. The fireburst had been easy to follow, giving him the direction he badly needed. After that, it had been hit and miss on where he landed. Resigning himself, Axel stepped into the darkness once more and emerged further up the road. This time there was no sign of Roxas, no scratch on the road to lead him on. Had he gone too far this time?
It didn't matter in the end. He needed to rest. Although he was unaware of it, Axel's body flickered in and out of existance, replaced with Reno's in those not-there moments. He finally stablized, forced to sit on one of the large rocks until the dizziness passed.
"You'd better him," he muttered to no one in particular.
