I've been practicing my German, because there's an app for that and I wanted to see how much I remembered from school (answer: practically nothing). At first it was nothing out of the ordinary: basic vocabulary and grammar, simple sentences like "the plate is on the table" and "the three dogs follow the four cats". Then I got to the medical unit, which in addition to things like "the doctor works in the clinic" and "where is the pharmacy", there was:
The body is heavy.
His skin is cold.
Is that blood?
Those are not my fingers.
So now I can, in German, tell people how many siblings I have and the color of my car, and react to a murder scene.
I still don't know whose fingers they are.
