My first post in a long while...

The American Dream is a LIE. In this country you are supposed to be able to work hard and become rewarded for how hard you work. If this was true, tell me why there is such a thing as poverty? Are you really trying to tell me that you honestly believe that every single person who is poor is not hard working, because if they WERE hardworking wouldn't they be rewarded and thus, not poor? Anyone that believes this kind of garbage has never been in an atmosphere where you did not have much (or anything at all). How many parents work three jobs to support their kids and still don't have enough money to make ends meet? How many children go to bed hungry at night because there wasn't enough money for groceries? Sure we might not have people starving on the streets (but I've been to enough big cities and seen enough homeless people to even doubt that truthfully)but there is certainly a difference between dying of starvation and having ENOUGH! And who in this country has enough? Who can afford to live in a nice home, further their education, and proceed to carry on the "pursuit of happiness"? I certainly can't and I come from a household that is not poor, but rather middle class. If the middle class can't make it, the lower class certainly can not. It's as if every single Republican is yelling at me to get a job when I've been trying to get a job for the past two months with no dice.

Maybe it's because I care about the world and the job I want will most likely be in SERVICE! The only way to get rich is to sell worthless products to people whom you brainwash to convince actually need them. You don't get rich from teaching or helping out someone who is low on their luck. You get rich from selling a new "software" program every other year when the old one could have held up just fine. You get rich from making a new iPod every six months because it's just so "trendy". But what does anyone care? Shouldn't money be the key and only factor in deciding how happy you are? I would gladly give up my own money (as much as I didn't need to actually survive) to help a fellow person survive. I think society is more important then personal gain (imagine that!) But of course the belief is if you don't work hard or if you simply can't "cut" it then you deserve to die? Because that's pretty much all I'm hearing! Does anyone out there actually believe that someone DESERVES to die for any reason whatsoever? Who's the real bad person? The person that has become too jaded or downtrodden to work hard or the person that thinks they deserve to die because of it?

More on this later...
