(no subject)
Well....Happy Holidays! I just read J's comic...and found it funny considering my own religious convictions. I've been reading/hearing about the rants and such of the people upset about taking the "Christ" out of "Christmas" . There are times I want to say to them....
"Listen, do you spend the day thinking hard about how you treat others and your own spirituality? Or do you spend the day trying to spend as much as possible to impress people you only see once a year?"
"There are other holidays this time of year, there's Hannukah,Kwanzaa, and Yule(Solstice)...to say the least. It's not about what religion you are, but really it's about finding a reason to celebrate and share with your friends and family to brighten up the darkest time of the year, spritually and literally."
"I'm wishing you a Happy Holiday because I don't wish to offend you ....Don't get angry at me. Do I bite your head off for wishing me a Merry Christmas?"
"I am who I am. Don't try to convert me or save my soul. This time of the year is about loving your fellow men/women, and celebrating and giving to the less fortunate. I will give to the Salvation Army and others not because of their religious backing, but because they only collect this time of year....I give a little every time I see that red bucket.....And you think I am damned?"
and so on....
