Yay for manicures and pedicures!

I had my very first pedicure and manicure yesterday. It was a really great experience, though it is a lot of money. I have long seen the diet books that talk about doing that sort of thing as a reward for losing weight, and I always thought it seemed kind of dumb. But now, I get it. The nail salon is run by some Vietnamese people. The lady that worked on me was really kind of funny. She took one look at my feet and informed me bluntly that I shouldn't have cut my toe-nails, they are too short. So, the next time I go, not cutting my own toe-nails. But, they had the motorized massage chairs, soaked my feet in a nice warm bubbling spa thingy, and rubbed feet and hands down with some berry-smelling lotion. It was so incredibly relaxing, and made me feel very pampered. Meanwhile, the guy that was doing my best friend's pedicure and manicure was evidently fishing around for information on what we were going to be doing afterwards. He thought at one point that I was needing a ride home, and actually offered to take me. But of course, it wasn't me, it was my friend's niece that needed the ride home. I kind of think the guy was interested.

Tonight I am trying out home made green chili. My mom decided to grow tomatillos this year. So, knowing that she will have way more than she will ever used, I snagged about a pound a half, and threw them in the slow cooker with some green chilis, onions, garlic, pork, chicken broth, and cumin. Hopefully, in a few more hours, we will have yummy tender green chili which we can use to fill up burritos. Then, my best friend and her husband are coming over in a bit, and we'll watch a video, perhaps, and enjoy the meal.

So, I really should get back to cleaning, so I'm done before they get here.

life, relaxation
