Gothenberg Airshow 2010
So me and my friend Huskyteer went to the Gothenberg Airshow this weekend just gone!
It was brilliant, the flight over was quite nice though we didn't get to sit together.
We had a bit of an adventure Friday night finding the hotel due to lack of Maps thankfully we found it eventually and man our hotel ROCKED!

Anyway we settled in, lounged in the bar for a bit then went to bed.
Saturday was a brilliant day we got the bus out to the Airshow and it was fab!
We got there nice and early so we got to look around at all the stalls and things for sale
We also went on the morning tour around the underground aircraft hangar! 100feet below ground

It was pretty awesome and we got to go behind the barriers etc and sit in the planes.

Also got to see a Viggen which was something Alice really, really wanted to see.

We came back upstairs and there was a brass band playing which was sort of awesome. we had burgers for lunch and sat on the flight line watching the displays all evening.
I took alot of pictures and there is a link to the gallery at the end of the journal but the day ended with a spectacular show by the Italian Tricolor team in celebration of a 100 years of Swedish Aviation.

Saturday evening we went back out into town and had a great time exploring and looking about at all the closed shops in preparation for shopping on Sunday then we had dinner at this lovely restaurant. My god we had some good food the steak I had was so tender and beautiful and in this Gorgonzola sauce it was to die for!
Sunday we went out shopping, we discovered a foot bridge that led from the marina near our hotel straight to the shopping centre:

It cut out the 6 crossing Junction we had been struggling over since we arrived on Saturday! It made life so much easier. We also got to go up on the GothenBerg Wheel of Excellence which I do not have a picture of from the ground for some reason! I'll get one off the husky.
I had a stroke of luck finding something for my Sister's wedding, I brought some sweets, some salt liquorice, a really awesome tea strainer and some other bits and pieces to take into the office and such.

And I have to show you this picture of the Price Waterhouse Cooper Building in Gothenberg really it haunted us and was always in sight! It was a pretty funky building: http://pics.livejournal.com/silvante/pic/0035ag83/g100
Anyway we had a brilliant weekend and despite our plane being 20 minutes late landing it was "Still on Time" apparently according to Ryanair, apparently being really late counts as being on time according to their statistics. It was a very good weekend however and I am glad I got to spend it with Alice we didn't drive each other mad and had a great time!
