Conrad and I both got fancy new phones that include a pretty high quality video/photo camera. It's been snowing a fair bit the past few days and LilBit got excited about making a snowman. Today it was warm enough to spend some time outside, so she and I worked together on her very first snowman. Here's a picture of the end result:

Catchup - Christmas was pretty quiet for us. LilBit's really been enjoying her new toys. We found really good prices on Nintendo DS's, so that's what we got for all three of us, plus some games. Conrad and I got new ones, and I got a used one for LilBit, so it wouldn't seem so bad when she goobered it up. Which, she totally has, but she adores playing it. She's got a drawing game, a Wonderpets game, and her favorite, Nintendogs. She also got a rocking horse from us, and the grandparents gave her stuffed animals and books while cousins gave her pj's, and a friend gave her Toy Story 3. I don't think she got anything that she doesn't love. :)
My birthday was also pretty quiet, but good. Conrad remembered (all on his own) to tell me Happy Birthday, which totally made my day. I bought a yummy cake, and opened my present from Conrad's parents, which turned out to be a nice set of big church-related pictures, which I think I'll make good use of. My parent's presents got delayed by the snow and arrived a few days later. They included the latest book in my favorite Manga series, Skip Beat, and an epilator (which I'd asked for - it's a bit hurty while I'm using it, but yay no more razor burn!).
Shortly after my birthday we got the news that Conrad's department had changed policy and he wouldn't be able to buy out his assistanceship after all. That was sad news, as it meant Conrad would have to work this semester and he wouldn't be able to focus just on his dissertation. That's going to delay program completion a bit and make this semester more stressful than we'd hoped for. On the plus side, we now have available the money we'd saved up to do the buying out with, which has turned out to be a blessing. I used a bit of that money to buy myself a birthday present in the form of some more anime & manga. We're also using some to pay for the phone plan that came with our new phones, and to pay for in-ear white noise generators that were the next step in Conrad's misophonia treatment.
